SHOULD I DONATE TO Maggie Beer Foundation?
Maggie Beer Foundation are a legally registered charity with deductible gift recipient status. They are trustworthy; they clearly describe their board, executive team, are transparent with their finances and have measures in place to avoid misuse of funds. Maggie Beer Foundation have also taken initial steps to demonstrate their effectiveness. They clearly describe their mission, their strategy to address that mission, the programs they are undertaking and the results of the programs. Notably, they have defined clear measures for success to allow their strategic objectives to be monitored.
However, Maggie Beer Foundation need to provide more information for us to have complete confidence in them. To improve their trustworthiness, we need to see a financial report that has a signed Directors Declaration. In order for us to verify their effectiveness, we need to have a better understanding of how they are evaluating their programs. We would also like to see reporting that shows progress against their strategic objectives.
After considering both the strengths and weaknesses of Maggie Beer Foundation, our recommendation is neutral. They provide information that indicates they are probably trustworthy and effective, but we need further assurances before recommending them with confidence.
In order to improve our confidence with them, we would like to see:
a financial report that has a signed Directors Declaration;
evaluations of their programs; and
reporting that shows progress against their strategic objectives.
