Should I donate to them?
We believe it is likely that your donation will be used as stated, that is, to undertake campaigns to protect, promote and restore wilderness and natural processes across Australia.
We believe that The Wilderness Society is likely to be trustworthy. It is clear who they are run by and how donations are used. They present an audited financial report. They show where donations go. It is clear who is in charge and their role. They demonstrate how they prevent the misuse of funds.
The Wilderness Society also demonstrate basic signs of effectiveness. They describe their strategic objectives and highlight the activities and results delivered from the past financial year.
However, there are some additional steps they can take in order for us to have complete confidence that funds are used for their purpose. We recommend The Wilderness Society:
indicate how the organisation monitors its performance
verify the value of funding delivered to related entities
demonstrate how they evaluate the effectiveness of their different campaign and program areas.
